The 2022-2023 GAVEL Rankings have just been released, and the FIU Law Trial Team is tied for 14th in the nation.

This recognition comes on the heels of the Trial Team’s Top 20 national Performance Ranking earlier this fall.

The GAVEL Rankings are maintained by Hofstra Law School and designed to complement the Trial Competition Performance Rankings put out by the Fordham University School of Law Brendan Moore Trial Advocacy Center.

GAVEL ranking points are calculated based on input from “the most respected trial team coaches and directors” in the country to “acknowledge schools winning the toughest competitions.”

In the Trial Team’s last three tournaments, FIU has been champion twice — state and national regional – and, most recently, a national finalist at Georgetown.

A full slate of spring competitions lies ahead, including the team’s defense of its Bedell and AAJ national regional titles.
