Services for Employers

The Ovadia CP&P Office looks forward to assisting employers in recruiting students for part-time school year, summer and post-graduate positions.

On-Campus Interviews (OCI) and Résumé Collect

The Ovadia CP&P Office invites employers to participate in its OCI and Résumé Collect Programs. Employers may request OCI participation or Résumé Collect via Symplicity (see below). With any questions, please email lawcareer@fiu.edu or  call 305.348.8376.

OCI:

OCI REGISTRATION FORMS: Available for fall and for spring.

Each fall, employers have the opportunity to conduct on-campus interviews with second- and third-year students for part-time school year, summer and permanent positions. The OCI Program takes place from August to October.

The Ovadia CP&P Office also offers a Spring OCI Program that typically is held from January through April and employers may request schedules to interview students from any class year.

Résumé Collect:

RÉSUMÉ COLLECT FORMS: Available for fall and for spring.

For employers who are unable to or choose not to conduct interviews at FIU Law, but who are interested in receiving résumés from FIU Law students, the Ovadia CP&P Office offers a Résumé Collect Program. The Ovadia CP&P Office will share information about employment opportunities with students, collect application materials and forward those materials to employers so that they may review them and interview students at their convenience.

JOB POSTING FORM: Available here.

For employers seeking to fill summer, part-time, entry-level or lateral employment needs, the Ovadia CP&P Office encourages the use of job postings through the web-based job posting database, Symplicity. Posting job opportunities with the Ovadia CP&P Office Symplicity system is a free service.

*The Ovadia CP&P Office maintains the job posting database as a service to students, alumni and employers, and does not validate or guarantee the accuracy of the information posted. The Ovadia CP&P Office does not endorse the opportunities posted or the people or organizations posting them. Applicants are encouraged to research employers and opportunities.*

Non-Discrimination Policy

It is the policy of FIU Law that no citizen of the United States or any other person within the jurisdiction thereof shall, on the grounds of race, religion, color, gender, gender identity, gender expression, age, disability, sexual orientation, veteran’s status, or national origin be excluded from participation in or be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity of the University. Employers who advertise positions through the Ovadia CP&P Office or participate in its recruitment programs must read the non-discrimination policy and undertake to observe it.

*Please be aware that the Ovadia CP&P Office may not post unpaid opportunities for FIU Law students to volunteer at private law firms. Recent guidance from the U.S. Department of Labor has led to the conclusion that placing students in unpaid internships is appropriate only when it is part of a structured educational process for academic credit, overseen by faculty, and managed as part of FIU Law’s overall Clinic and Externship Programs.*
