Mission
FIU Law Library supports the information needs of FIU Law faculty, students and staff.
Collection Development
FIU Law Library is committed to providing resources necessary to support our student's legal education needs, while also providing robust research library for faculty and scholars. We collect materials in keeping with the international focus of the College's educational mission; this includes robust reciprocal sharing activities with world-wide libraries and legal institutions.

Policies
FIU Law Library is open to everyone in need of our resources.
FIU Law Library's policies are FIU Libraries policies except as modified or enhanced below.
Patrons are expected to abide all policies and follow instructions of FIU Law Library staff.
FIU Libraries Policies
FIU Law Library patrons follow the policies of FIU Libraries. Exceptions and clarifications are listed below.
Building Use, Circulation & Borrowing, Donations, Patron Privacy, and all other policies, can be viewed from the FIU Libraries website.
Special Collections Policy
FIU Law Library Special Collections support the research of scholars and legal practioners worldwide. These archival protocols are followed when handling our Special Collections. Ask a Law Librarian for an appointment.
Food and Drink
Generally, food and beverages in closed containers are permissible so long as they do not disturb others or are messy. Specific policies for the first floor and study rooms limit items. Review the policy for details.
OverDrive
Lexis Digital Libraries ebooks are bound by special Lending, Copyright, Privacy, and Terms and Conditions from LexisNexis or OverDrive. All Policies are linked and viewable under Policies from the Lexis Digital Libraries home page.
Group Study Rooms
Group Study Rooms are exclusive to FIU Law students and alumni studying for the Bar exam. Users must agree to policy terms prior to reserving a study room and must observe food and beverage limits.
Interlibrary Loan
FIU Law Library Interlibrary Loan services are exclusive to FIU Law faculty, students and staff. All requests are processed through our ILL system. Patrons must fill out an ILL Request Form to receive service.
Federal Depository Library Program
FIU Law Library is a member of the Federal Depository Library Program. As a Selective Depository, FIU Law Library works together with FIU Libraries Government Resources & Information Department to ensure public access to U.S. government documents and laws.
Governance
FIU Law Librarians are FIU faculty, governed as law librarian faculty. Information on FIU Law Librarian faculty governance is provided via our FIU Law Library Evaluation and Promotion Manual.
Information on FIU Libraries and/or FIU Medical Library librarian faculty governance is provided by those libraries.
