(MIAMI, Florida, August 18, 2022) FIU College of Law Professors, trial lawyers H. Scott Fingerhut and H.T. Smith, have been recognized again this year among The Best Lawyers in America.

Best Lawyers highlights the top 6% of practicing attorneys in the United States and is the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession.

The 2022 edition, the publication’s 29th, is based on more than 8 million evaluations and recognizes over 65,000 attorneys in 147 practice areas.

For almost three decades, in almost 70 countries, Best Lawyers has earned the respect of the bar, media, and public as the most reliable, unbiased source of legal referrals anywhere.

“H.T. and I are grateful for this continued recognition, mostly for what it instills in our students,” said Professor Fingerhut — “the importance of a consistent commitment to excellence, and the urgent need for great lawyering in today’s troubled America, wrapped with laser-like focus in our unique FIU Trial Ad Program brand: Passionate Principled Advocacy.”

Professor Smith is the Founding Director of the FIU Law Trial Advocacy Program and teaches Advanced Trial Advocacy and Trial Advocacy.

Professor Fingerhut serves as Assistant Director of the program and teaches Trial Advocacy, Pretrial Practice, and Criminal Procedure.

The two professors also lead the champion FIU Law Trial Team.
