FIU Law Library provides all FIU Law users access to Procertas LTA. This competency-based learning and benchmarking platform integrates core legal technology training (Word, Excel, PDF) into the law school curriculum.

To activate your account, you will need to open this email and click the “User activation” button.

Step 2: Upon clicking the button, the user’s Internet Browser will automatically open to the page shown below. Here, they will need to set up their password for their account. For security purposes, passwords should contain a variety of more than 5 characters.

It is important for users to read and understand our Data Protection Policy. After doing so, the checkbox on the left side of “I read and understood the Data Protection Policy of Procertas LTA” may be clicked. Lastly, click the blue “Save” button.

Logging-In

Step 1: Navigate to the log-in page at https://ltaweb.azurewebsites.net.

Step 2: Enter the email address associated with your account and your password. Then, click the “Log in” button. If you have forgotten your password, please see the Recovering Forgotten Passwords page.

Recovering Forgotten Passwords

Step 1: Navigate to the log-in page at https://ltaweb.azurewebsites.net.

Step 2: Find the “Restore your password” link located at the bottom right corner of the log-in page.

Step 3: Users will then be asked to enter the email address associated with their account. After putting this in and clicking the “Restore password” button, users will receive an email with a link to change their password.

Tutorial Module

The very first module that is available to Users when entering the LTA is the Tutorial module. It is highly recommended for all new users to go through this module in order to understand how the LTA works.

Like all other modules, users can begin the Tutorial by clicking the “Begin New” button on the right as shown below.

A standard LTA module is timed and graded. The Tutorial is neither timed nor graded. Rather, the Tutorial provides an opportunity to get familiar with the mechanics of the LTA.

Modules are broken down into discrete tasks. For each task, you should follow the instructions that will appear in the browser window.

For some tasks, you will download one or more target documents. You will edit these documents per the task instructions presented in the browser window. You will then save the edited documents and upload the documents to be graded.

Thus, to complete the LTA, you will need to be able to download, edit, save, and upload documents. You will practice doing just that in this Tutorial.

User Settings

The User Settings page can be located by clicking the profile drop down menu on the right of the top navigation bar as seen below.

The Settings page determines which versions of modules will be provided (Windows versus Mac).

Here, users can also change Language and turn on Visual Impairments accessibility.

The Preferred Software section is where users enter the version of software they are using for the LTA.

You can still fully utilize the LTA even if you do not have the precise versions of software for which training has been created. In fact, most of the training will remain applicable (i.e., the current software is substantially similar to previous iterations).

That said, the LTA is open universe, and you are encouraged to use web searches to problem solve if you rely on older software versions. You may return to this Settings page at any time (available under your username in the upper right-hand corner). When you are done selecting your operating system and software, hit ‘Save’ and then proceed to Modules (via the menu bar at the top of the page).
