FIU Law alumna Julia Williams has blazed a trail marked by distinction. During her time as a law student, she worked as a clerk at the Florida Supreme Court for Justice James E.C. Perry and assumed leadership roles as the president and founding member of the Veterans and Military Affairs Law Student Association. Post her FIU Law graduation in 2016, Julia embarked on a career with the Air Force JAG Corps. In this capacity, she undertook a spectrum of responsibilities ranging from prosecuting courts-martial and federal trials as a Special Assistant United States Attorney to advocating for victims as a Special Victims’ Counsel.

Julia is currently delving into the realm of Animal Law as she pursues a LLM at Vermont Law and Graduate School. Her academic pursuit has translated into hands-on experience through externships at Animal Outlook and the Animal Legal Defense Fund. Among her accomplishments, she notably co-authored a published article in the Florida Bar Journal, shedding light on the grim world of alligator farming. Her comprehensive study of how farm pollution impacts Florida’s coastal businesses is set to be featured in the St. Thomas Law Review. Julia’s groundbreaking work, regarding the FDA Modernization Act 2.0, is slated for publication by the esteemed Lewis & Clark Animal Law Review. Her journey is an inspiring narrative of multifaceted contributions to the legal domain.
