Sarah C. Slinger, Head of Instructional Services Librarian & Adjunct Professor of Law, recently had her post “Much Ado About Credentials: Surveying Our Perceptions of Credentials & Diversity in the Profession” featured in featured on the RIPS-SIS blog. This post discusses the importance of credentials in the law librarian profession and includes the results of a survey assessing librarian opinions on the idea of eliminating the J.D. from law librarian positions, in favor of substituting some type of equivalent experience, the acceptance of alternative degrees, or simply just removing the J.D. as a required employment qualification.
