FIU Libraries and FIU Law Library are migrating to a new authentication portal Open Athens in Fall 2021. While we prepare for migration, you will now see two options for authenticating while off campus:

  • Open Athens
  • EZproxy

For those familiar with FIU authentication, you are used to EZproxy authentication. What’s new for you is the changed credentials you must use to authenticate in the EZproxy portal: you now must use your Library Card # (located on the back of your OneCard) + Password as your Date of Birth in the format MMDD. Details on how to login are on each authentication portal landing page.

FIU Law Library resources are currently authenticated via EZproxy. Always use our A-Z eResource list to ensure that you are directed to the correct authentication as we move through this migration.

OpenAthens is replacing EZproxy as the primary tool to access licensed electronic resources off-campus.

Most licensed resources from FIU Libraries are now available in OpenAthens. How do you know the difference? Utilize the A-Z eResource Lists to be directed to the appropriate authentication portal:

We are transitioning from EZproxy to OpenAthens. Watch for updates from FIU Law Library regarding this transition.
