WAMR’s latest issue:

New and emerging technologies in the world of international dispute resolution

The Editorial Staff of the World Arbitration and Mediation Review (“WAMR”) is pleased to announce the publication of Issue 12(2), which focuses on new and emerging technologies and its effect on international dispute resolution. The five contributions included in this issue, authored by prominent and emerging practitioners from different parts of the world, cover a broad range of aspects inherent to the arbitral process while also shedding light on some broad and generalizable issues that apply to the modern functioning of the legal system.

The Editorial Staff currently led by Nathalie Prieto (Deputy Editor-in-Chief), has worked tirelessly —including holidays and weekends— to keep up the pace with a demanding publication schedule. The quality of the articles, the geographical diversity of the authors and the relevance of the topics covered has helped cement WAMR’s reputation as a premier journal in dispute resolution around the world, and obviously the name of FIU Law as an institution with intellectual gravitas.

WAMR’s staff has also grown significantly since the arrival of the journal at FIU Law two years ago.  Our team now has 25 student members working under an Editorial Board that includes  Mary Katie Berney (Production Editor), Ana Elena Tovar (Production Editor), Brittany Still (Managing Editor), Ana Echeverry (Senior Executive Editor), Carolina Sanchez (Senior Executive Editor), Giselle Fernandez (Senior Executive Editor), Christina Coizeau (Submissions Editor), Cecilia Ruiz Lujan (Communications Editor), Brittany Brooks (Conference Editor) and Jacob Leuze (Development Editor). As with every successful venture at FIU Law, WAMR is the result of a collective effort and support from the administration, faculty, staff, and students.

In addition to publishing cutting edge work in the field of arbitration and mediation, WAMR is also involved with other initiatives geared to mentor law students interested in arbitration and mediation, advance women in international dispute resolution, and promote diversity, inclusion and excellence in other ways.  Stay tuned for our open house and annual celebration before the end of the Spring semester.
