On Sunday, September 27, almost 30 FIU Law students and 20 attorneys gathered for the FIU Negotiation Team’s 12th Annual Intramural Negotiation Competition. After two long Preliminary Round negotiations, the attorneys and Negotiation Team judges selected the top eight students to advance to the Final Round.

The Final Rounds were close.

At the end of the Final Rounds the top two competitors were tied for first.  Using ABA tie-breaking procedures, Cindy Hoskin emerged as the Champion Negotiator, Nicole Peguero was named Runner-Up and Christine Trujillo finished as Second Runner-Up.  Rounding out the top eight were Adam Abecassis, Gemma Torcivia, Enbar Cohen, Elizabeth Diaz and Jennifer Guardia.

The Final Round competitors were judged by Annie Hernandez, alumna Amanda Braun, alumna Michelle Grosser and alumna Sarah Valdés.

The top competitors  will now begin preparing for the ABA Southeast Regional Negotiation Competition which will be held at FIU Law on November 14-15. FIU Law teams have performed exceptionally well during the Southeast Regionals, bringing home the Regional Championship six times in the last seven years.
