Professor Phyllis Kotey, Director of Externship and Pro Bono Programs, was recently recognized by The National Judicial College in Reno, NV. for “Excellence in Teaching” for 17 years of service. Prof. Kotey delivered lectures to federal, military, tribal and state Judges as a member of the faculty for Special Courts and Advanced Special Courts from June 14-16, 2017. The lectures were entitled, Why Fairness Matters:  Impact on the Court, Ex Parte Communication, and The Consequences of Judicial Misconduct On and Off the Bench.

Professor Kotey will be returning to the National Judicial College in Reno, NV. on October 23 – 26 to teach the course: Ethics, Fairness and Security in Your Court and the Community. Professor Kotey is the only active College of Law faculty in the state of Florida who is part of The National Judicial College. The National Judicial College is the nation’s leading provider of judicial education.
