“El Derecho de los Estados Unidos” (The Law of the United States) 3 day program organized in partnership with the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, was a great success. In the past few years, FIU Law has offered similar non-degree programs entirely in Spanish to lawyers and upper-level law students from Latin America and Spain, but this one was the third collaborative enterprise between FIU Law and the top Peruvian law school. This program attracted around 35 participants from: Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Spain, Venezuela and the United States; and also featured a group of first rate lecturers such as Prof. Manuel A. Gomez (FIU LAW, Associate Dean for Graduate & International Studies) and Prof. Marisol Floren-Romero (FIU LAW, Assistant Director, Library); former Chairs of the International Law Section of the Florida Bar; partners from international firms Holland & Knight, Hogan Lovells, Sequor Law, Jones Day, Palmer & Associates and WDA Legal. The program was organized by FIU Law’s  international programs manager Gilberto A. Guerrero-Rocca and supported by Lisbeth D’Lima.
