On Wednesday, September 17, FIU Law Dean R. Alexander Acosta will be among judges, elected officials, attorneys, war veterans and other prominent community and business leaders in commemorating the 227th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. at the National Historic Landmark Freedom Tower – 600 Biscayne Blvd. – in downtown Miami.
Constitution Day (or Citizenship Day) is a federal observance recognizing the country’s citizens, as well as the day the U.S. Constitutional Convention signed the Constitution in 1787. It also honors the rights and liberties granted and protected by the nation’s supreme law.
