Prof. Howard Wasserman published two pieces on the widely read SCOTUSBlog: Analyzing the Court’s unanimous decision in Hall v. Hall on when parties can appeal judgments and analyzing Monday’s argument in United States v. Sanchez-Gomez on when criminal defendants can appeal court orders allowing them to be restrained during court proceedings.


Prof. Wasserman joined FIU Law in 2003 and teaches civil procedure, evidence, federal courts, civil rights, and First Amendment; his scholarship focuses on the freedom of speech and on the role of procedure and jurisdiction in public-law and civil-rights litigation.
