Professor Osei-Tutu presented Redefining Intellectual Property Progress as the nominated speaker for the Maiden Distinguished Speaker Series at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law. This speaker series is hosted by the Centre for Law, Technology and Society (CLTS) and the Open African Innovation Research network (Open AIR). Event Flyer is attached here.

Professor Osei-Tutu argued that intellectual property progress must be redefined to include human development as one of its core goals. Osei-Tutu’s talk was attended by academics, graduate students, government officials, diplomats, and members of the public. The audience responded with a great deal of interest to the unconventional arguments presented, with the conversation continuing after the question and answer session had finished.
