Congratulations to Natalie Del Valle (2L), Ryan Gonzalez (1L), and Jeannie Regidor (2L) for winning 1st Place in the Legal Tech Challenge that took place on Friday, February 2, 2024.
The competition, conducted online through Zoom, was hosted by the FSU Law Technology & Entrepreneurship Club and sponsored by the Hispanic National Bar Association. For the challenge, competitors needed to identify a problem in the legal industry and come up with a solution that used emerging technology. Competitors then created a 5-minute pitch and slide deck of their problem and solution, and pitched their deck to a panel of judges.
Multiple teams from law schools throughout Florida presented their ideas in the hackathon style challenge, with FIU Law’s team winning the first place prize of $1,000.00. Their idea, “LegalSpeak” involved using AI voice technology for language interpretation in the legal industry.
All of the students on the team would like to thank the entire FIU Law community for its support.
