Professor H.T. Smith was honored by the National Bar Association with its 2021 Equal Justice Award.
Presented at NBA’s annual meeting, the award recognizes Professor Smith’s lifetime of advocacy on behalf of people of color, women, and the LGBT community.
The National Bar Association is the nation’s oldest and largest national network of predominantly African-American attorneys and judges.
A trailblazing civil rights pioneer and trial lawyer, Professor Smith is founding director of the FIU Law Trial Advocacy Program. He teaches Trial Advocacy and Advanced Trial Advocacy.
