Professor H. Scott Fingerhut has been appointed by the Florida Bar of Board Examiners to serve as an expert on its newly-formed Practice Analysis Panel.

The panel’s purpose is to study the knowledge, skills, and abilities that are critical for freshly licensed Florida lawyers, and to develop a comprehensive survey instrument which will be distributed to the Bar’s full membership.

The results of panel’s findings will assist the Board of Bar Examiners in its ongoing assessment of the Florida bar examination and inform any recommendations the board may make to the Florida Supreme Court about the future format and content of the exam.

“I am humbled to be selected, and privileged to serve,” Professor Fingerhut said of the appointment.  “Our communities continue to deserve our finest advocacy and legal representation, and our FIU lawyers and lawyers-to-be are among the very best.”

The panel began its work earlier this month and will continue into 2021.

Professor Fingerhut is the Assistant Director of the Trial Advocacy Program.  He teaches Trial Advocacy, Pretrial Practice, and Criminal Procedure, and coaches the Trial Team.  He is also a Fellow in the FIU Honors College, where he serves as pre-law faculty advisor and teaches two upper division seminars, Observing Ourselves and The Gathering.
