Professor Carpenter recently commented on two of the major issues in next week’s motions hearing for the court-martial of Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl. The defense is arguing that comments made by Senator McCain have violated Sergeant Berdahl’s due process rights, and is also arguing that the general officer who decided to prosecute the case should be disqualified from his role in the court-martial.
