On October, 21, Professor Eric R. Carpenter presented his current research project, Commanders and Sexual Assault Case Attrition, to the faculty of the Texas Tech School of Law. Using a database requested from the Army that includes every founded homicide, robbery, assault and sexual assault that occurred in the Army from 2008 – 2011, Professor Carpenter measures whether Army commanders are more lenient on sexual assaults than they are on other comparable crimes of violence against the person.
