On June 16 and 18, Professor Ryan B. Stoa, Senior Scholar at FIU Law, presented the results of his research on Haitian water law and policy to government officials and local stakeholders in Haiti.  As a co-principal investigator of a water governance project funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Professor Stoa has been researching the laws, agency policies, and capacities of key institutions in the Haitian water sector since January of this year. The workshop on June 16 was presented to local government stakeholders in northern Haiti, where the IDB is sponsoring a large industrial park, while the June 18 workshop was delivered to national-level agencies and inter-governmental organizations.  The results of the study – including feedback from the validation workshops – will be published later this summer.
