FIU Law is proud to announce that seven graduates have accepted federal court or state appellate court clerkship positions which begin in 2015. These alumni continue a rich tradition of service to the profession that has been central to their academic and professional experience. We congratulate our graduates for their individual accomplishments and their collective success.

“Clerking is a remarkable experience,” said alumnus Robert Scavone Jr., law clerk to the Honorable Adalberto J. Jordan, Circuit Judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. “Working under the tutelage of a judge is an honor, and it has made me a better lawyer.”

“There is a tradition in law that jurists help train the next generation of leading attorneys by hiring them as clerks,” said R. Alexander Acosta, dean FIU Law.  “A clerkship is a transformative experience for a recent graduate and we are thankful for the many jurists that select our graduates for such an honor.”  Dean Acosta is a former law clerk to Associate Justice, United States Supreme Court, Samuel A. Alito Jr.,  (then Circuit Judge, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit).
