FIU Law Professor Charles C. Jalloh spoke on three panels during the United Nations’ International Law Week in New York. In addition to co-convening and speaking at the informal dialogue on universal criminal jurisdiction on October 28, 2019, Professor Jalloh participated in a rich Panel discussion and interactive dialogue on the International Law Commission’s proposed draft Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Crimes against Humanity organized by Germany, Chile and Sierra Leone with the co-sponsorship of Whitney R Harris World Law Institute of Washington University of St. Louis held on 29 October 2019; and a side event on Community Interests in International Law, organized by Germany and Chile to the United Nations on October 31,2019. Professor Jalloh’s week at the UN included additional participation in formal and informal Sixth Committee debates/interactive dialogues on the 2019 Report of the International Law Commission (“ILC”). He is an ILC member and served as its General Rapporteur for this year’s session.
