Judge Adalberto Jordan of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit delivered the 2022 Judicial Lecture on November 2. In an hour-long interview with Professor Howard Wasserman, Judge Jordan discussed how he participates and decides cases, his approach to good legal writing, and the classes all law students should take. Judge Jordan also enjoyed lunch with a small group of students and served as presiding judge for the final round of FIU’s Intramural Moot Court Competition.

“It was an honor to have Judge Jordan deliver the 2022 Judicial Lecture,” said Wasserman. “He has supported FIU College of Law for years in teaching classes and hiring our students and graduates in his chambers. He engaged and entertained the students, while teaching them about the judicial process and the legal profession.”

Judge Jordan was appointed to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida in 1999 and elevated to the Eleventh Circuit in 2012. He has served as an adjunct professor in the College of Law, teaching classes in federal courts and habeas corpus.
