“I am extremely fortunate and excited for this opportunity and look forward to making an impact on my community this summer!,” said Grace. “I will be providing free immigration aid in Tallahassee and am grateful to continue learning!”
The fellowship will last eight to ten weeks and each fellow will gain hands-on experience addressing the unique needs of rural communities.
“When Equal Justice Works and Legal Services of Greater Miami selected me to be a Rural Summer Legal Corps Fellow, I was, of course, surprised I was selected, and excited to bring what I have learned in my first year at FIU Law to help low-income residents of Monroe County navigate their legal troubles,” said Sasha. “I am grateful to Randee Breiter in Career Planning for all the assistance she gave me in finding the right internship opportunity for me this summer. I attended an incredible training in Washington D.C. with other fellows (including a fellow FIU 1L!) and feel lucky that I can spend this summer in service.”
