In addition to serving as a Judge Advocate for the United States Army Reserves, Jeremy is an Assistant United States Attorney at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida. After graduating from FIU College of Law in 2016, he became an Attorney Advisor at the U.S. Department of Justice, Executive Office for Immigration Review through the U.S. D.O.J. Honors Program. Jeremy is also a Class V Fellow of the Florida Bar Leadership Academy. In 2017, he became an adjunct faculty member at Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law. Jeremy received his master’s degree from FIU in 2010 and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville in 2009.
While at FIU College of Law, Jeremy served as the National Director of Education and Career Development for the National Black Law Students Association. As a law student at FIU, the National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials awarded Jeremy the Presidential Service Award in 2015. For his leadership, service, and commitment to FIU and the community, FIU College of Law awarded Jeremy the Faculty Recognition Award in 2016. For his mentorship, the H.T. Smith BLSA Chapter awarded Jeremy the Outstanding Alumni Award in 2019. Additionally, Jeremy has published three law review articles: Dismantling the School-to-Prison Pipeline: South Florida’s Approach in the Harvard Law and Policy Review; Eliminating Zero-Tolerance Policies in Public Schools: Miami-Dade Public School’s Approach in the Brigham Young University Law and Education Journal; and Dismantling the Sexual Abuse-to-Prison Pipeline in the Thurgood Marshall Law Review. At FIU College of Law, Jeremy worked as a research assistant to Professor H.T. Smith and Professor Phyllis Kotey.
