FIU Trial Team alumnus Gabriel A. Garay (COL ’12) has been named president-elect of the Coral Gables Bar Association.
While in law school, Gabe was a proud member of our Trial Team, and in 2011 participated in the Florida Justice Association’s Hon. E. Earle Zehmer Memorial Mock Trial Competition held at the Edgecomb Courthouse in Tampa – a competition in which FIU advanced to the semifinals in Gabe’s year, and which FIU has won back-to-back in 2016 and 2017.
Since graduating, Gabe has been a consistent contributor to our Trial Advocacy Program, serving as a critiquing juror in our Student Final Trials at the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building and helping us to select new Trial Team members at our bi-annual tryouts.
Gabe is an associate with the Law Offices of Robert L. Parks, a Miami-based trial firm specializing in personal injury, complex litigation, product liability, class action litigation, negligent security, and aviation-related matters.
Gabe is a 40 Under 40 Honoree for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and a member of the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 (Plaintiff). Before becoming president-elect, Gabe served as treasurer for the Coral Gables Bar.
Congratulations, Gabe!
