Professor H. Scott Fingerhut was the featured lunchtime presenter at the Florida Bar’s 2017 Hot Topics in Evidence CLE seminar held recently in Orlando.
His presentation, “If Living is Lying, What of the Sun? On the Constructs of Ethical Lawyering, Captivating Juror Attention, and the Madness of Crowds in an Age of Literal Truthiness,” focused on the hurdles to verdict lawyers now additionally face in light of the popularized notions of “fake news” and “alternative facts” as marketed to, and seemingly accepted by, a good deal of a targeted public.
Professor Fingerhut serves as Assistant Director of the Trial Advocacy Program. He teaches Trial Advocacy, Pretrial Practice, and Criminal Procedure. Contact him at fingerhut@fiu.edu.
