Professor Ryan B. Stoa, Senior Scholar at the College of Law and Co-Director of the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Program, is representing FIU at the ongoing climate change talks in Paris this month.  The 21st Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (or “COP 21”) aims to create a legally binding commitment from UN member states to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions to combat climate change.

Professor Stoa has been writing about the lead-up to the conference, and will be blogging about the negotiations at www.ryanstoa.com.  Professor Stoa has been accredited to participate in the talks and negotiations, and will be presenting research on United States climate change federalism on Dec. 10.  His participation is supported by FIU’s College of Law, Institute for Water and the Environment, and Sea Level Solutions Center.
