On Saturday, September 12, 2015, third-year law student DeeDee Bitran was the special guest at the Pacific Legal Foundation’s (PLF) 2015 Legends of Liberty gala held aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California. In March, Bitran won the PLF Law Student Writing Competition for her article, Equal opportunity, not equal results: Benign racial favoritism to remedy mere statistical disparate impact is never constitutionally permissible which earned her a $3,000 scholarship and the opportunity to attend the gala.
Bitran had the chance to meet PLF donors, clients and attorneys and heard from speakers who discussed the importance safeguarding constitutional rights and stopping the government from infringing on personal liberties.
