“El Derecho de los Estados Unidos” (The Law of the United States) 3 day program organized with the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, was a great success. In the past few years, we have offered similar non-degree programs entirely in Spanish to lawyers and upper-level law students from Latin America, but this one was the second collaborative enterprise between FIU Law and the top Peruvian law school. Dean Antony Page gave the opening remarks.
This program attracted around 27 participants from: Argentina, Bolivia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela and the United States; and also featured a group of first rate lecturers including distinguished FUI Law faculty, several former Chair Presidents of the International Law Section of the Florida Bar, partners from leading international firms such as Hogan Lovells and Jones Day, and the Latin American international arbitration boutiques WDA Legal and Bullard Falla & Ezcurra. The program was organized and led by FIU Law’s international programs manager Gilberto A. Guerrero-Rocca and supported by Lisbeth D’Lima.
