From the Introduction: “In 2006, a call for papers in comparative legal history went out to a group of interested Italian scholars and to a smaller number of Americans. The call announced a Seminar. Its theme was to be: ‘Relations between the ius commune and English law.’ Within that broad theme, potential participants were left free to choose their own topics… The Seminar thus provided a concrete example of the many and varied ways in which connections between the ius commune and English law could profitably be made.”
