FIU Law Associate Professor Charles C. Jalloh  has been invited to represent the African Union (AU) as counsel in its first-ever appearance as amicus curiae (‘friend of the court’) in ongoing proceedings before the Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague. Thirty-four of the AU’s 54-member states are also members of the ICC, which for its part, is composed of 123 member states from around the world. Professor Jalloh, who has published and lectured extensively on the ICC-AU relationship since 2009, has been described as “a globally renowned expert” on the topic.
