FIU Law’s Florida Center for Capital Representation (FCCR), which was created to assist defense attorneys representing defendants facing the death penalty in Florida with free case-consultation and litigation-support services, provided comments regarding the recent execution of a Georgia inmate.
FRRC’s Co-Director Karen Gottlieb comments on the Gissendaner case in the Daily Business Review’s article, Why the Eleventh Circuit Let Georgia Execute Inmate. Read the full article here.
In addition to case-consultation and litigation-support services, FCCR provides capital-litigation training programs to defense attorneys and mitigation specialists across the State. With a strong emphasis on developing mitigation to obtain death-penalty waivers and pleas, FCCR seeks to train and assist capital defense teams in resolving cases short of a death sentence.
