On September 24, FIU Law graduates who recently passed the bar examination returned to the school for a swearing-in ceremony that officially ushered them into the legal profession. The ceremony was conducted by Senior Judge and FIU Law faculty member Phyllis Kotey.
For alumna Michelle Nahmias ’15, the evening was more than just a formality.
“Being sworn in meant everything because it was the last box to be checked,” she shared. “It finally felt like we crossed the finish line, that our sacrifices were behind us and we could move on to our next journey.”
FIU Law’s bar passage rate was 89%, which exceeded the statewide average bar passage rate of 68.9% by more than 20 percentage points.
“This was a great moment,” alumna Ingrid Cepero ’15 commented. “I am proud to be part of this class. We were united since the first day of orientation and we continued to stick together. I begin my career as an associate with Squire Patton Boggs confident and prepared because of the education and experiences that I had at FIU Law.”
