Professor H.T. Smith, the founding director of the Trial Advocacy Program at Florida International University College of Law, continues to be recognized for his excellence in legal education as he was recently voted the Professor Megan A. Fairlie Professor of the Year Award recipient for the 2025–2026 school year.
Smith is consistently listed in The Best Lawyers in America (including the 2025 edition) and was recently honored with the 2025 Criminal Justice Award from the Miami-Dade Bar. He also recently helped lead the FIU Law trial team to victory in The Florida Bar Trial Lawyers Section's 2026 Chester Bedell Memorial Mock Trial Championship and the American Association for Justice's Regional Championship.
