On October 12 and 13, 2026, Professor Manuel A. Gómez, Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Global Engagement, taught as a Visiting Lecturer at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE) in Romania, at the invitation of Dean Ovidiu Ioan Dumitru of the Faculty of Law.

At the Faculty of Law, he gave a guest lecture to final-year law students on "The Globalisation of the Legal Profession." He covered cross-border practice, international arbitration, and how artificial intelligence is reshaping legal work in Latin America, Spain, and Romania.

On both days, he also taught evening classes in the AI and Data Law course of ASE's Master in Digital Business and Innovation, coordinated by Professor Crenguta Leaua. The classes presented the US approach to AI regulation and liability, in contrast with the EU approach the students had already studied.

Professor Gómez is the Founding Director of FIU Law's Master of Science in Law & Technology and Chair-elect of the Miami International Arbitration Society.
