FIU Law 2Ls Stacey Bazile and Gabriella Rodrigues have accepted the 2026 FFLA Civic Legal Aid Summer Fellowship. This highly regarded, 10-week, full-time, paid fellowship program provides law students with the opportunity to gain hands-on legal service experience at a Florida non-profit legal services organization.
Stacey applied to the program, motivated by the opportunity to reconnect with her commitment to community service while continuing to grow as a future attorney. She looks forward to building meaningful professional relationships, seeking mentorship from experienced attorneys, and gaining a deeper understanding of the needs of the South Florida community so she can advocate on their behalf.
Gabriella, who is passionate about working for non-profits that provide legal services to underserved communities, was encouraged by her career planning advisor, Randee Breiter, to apply when the fellowship opened. She is excited to gain more practical experience in immigration law and to compare her previous work in Miami with the legal work she will pursue in Jacksonville.
Chosen from an exceptionally competitive applicant pool of 106 law students, Stacey and Gabriella will bring a strong commitment to public service to the fellowship experience.
