FIU Law alumna Kristianne Neu (J.D. ’21) joined DLA Piper, one of the largest law firms globally, as a Business and Commercial Litigation Attorney in the firm’s Miami office.

Prior to this position, Kristianne completed judicial clerkships at the United States District Court for The Southern District of Florida and the Third District Court of Appeal. She spent her first year of practice developing litigation experience and pursuing clerkship opportunities.

Kristianne reflected on her time at FIU Law, stating that “serving as a teaching assistant for Professor Klion’s Legal Skills and Values class” was one of her most impactful memories. She noted that “supporting students and making legal writing more approachable was one of the most fulfilling law school experiences.”

Kristianne offered advice to FIU Law students and recent graduates, saying, “focus on fundamentals and get as close to the work you want to be doing as possible.” She shared that it is important to “find mentors who will review your work, give candid feedback, and let you take on responsibility.”
