Congratulations to Jorge Jaramillo ’24 who recently published his co-authored article on military justice reform with experts Michael Waddington and Alexandra González-Waddington in the ABA Criminal Justice Magazine.

Jorge completed his undergraduate studies in Political Science at Florida International University and entered FIU Law through the Honors College 3+3 Program. Reflecting on his time at FIU Law, he shared, “The opportunities to engage with Military Justice through coursework and internships solidified my decision to pursue this path.”

He also gained hands-on experience through internships with the military defense firm González & Waddington and the U.S. Coast Guard’s Legal Office, guided by Professor Eric R. Carpenter.

Now, as he joins the Army JAG Corps, Jorge is ready to apply his education to real-world military legal cases. “The classes in Military Justice and National Security were particularly impactful, and Professor Carpenter’s guidance was invaluable,” he added.
