DESCRIPTION
The Sports, Entertainment, Fashion and Art Law Society (SEFA) is thrilled to announce its first-annual symposium. The week-long symposium will bring together some of the most knowledgeable minds across various areas of the sports and entertainment industry to discuss the most prominent topics and legal issues. The Symposium will kick off with a discussion about name, image, and likeness, which goes into effect in Florida in July 2021. The following day turns the card to a discussion about the future of sports betting and gambling in Florida. Recently, Florida House Bill 1317 was filed to include professional sports venues as licensed operators. On Wednesday, the focus shifts to the meteoric rise of esports, content creation, and virtual reality in which the panelists will discuss copyright issues surrounding streaming, working with esports teams and content creators, and more. On Thursday, we will explore the world of influencer law and analyze the social media marketing deals and partnerships between brands and influencers. To close out the week, Friday’s panel will highlight three superstar negotiators in the NFL who will discuss the challenges and triumphs of being a woman in the industry.
The symposium will be fully virtual on Zoom.
