Professor Londono is the Chief of International Law at U.S. Southern Command, where he advises the Combatant Commander, her staff, and Component Commands on legal matters and works with countries to promote rule of law initiatives across the Western Hemisphere.
Previously, Professor Londono served as a Judge Advocate in the U.S. Marine Corps. As a Marine, he served as a prosecutor, defense counsel, and as the primary legal adviser to a base commander. He was also hand-selected to lead the first civilian police department in the Marines. He also served as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney within the Central District of California, where he tried eight contested cases and prosecuted over 580 criminal cases.
In addition to his criminal law background, Professor Londono also worked with the U.S. Navy’s Office of the General Counsel, where he developed extensive experience in employment and labor law. He represented the Department of the Navy in labor arbitrations; trials; and master labor agreement negotiations. Additionally, he coordinated various public-private initiatives with state, local, and federal agencies.
