Student Bar Association (SBA)

The Student Bar Association (SBA) is an organization dedicated to the representation and promotion of the interests and goals of the Student Body of FIU Law. The SBA is a student-run organization that serves as the liaison between law students and the administration. The SBA is also the parent organization for other student organizations within the FIU Law.

In addition to representing the individual needs and concerns of the Student Body, the SBA strives to foster a working relationship with the faculty, administration, and South Florida legal community. The SBA plans networking events throughout the year to help advance this objective.

The SBA also plans social events for students. Some of these social events include: the annual Halloween party, Family Field Day, end-of-semester parties, happy hours  and the Barrister’s Ball.

The officers of the SBA extend a warm welcome to new and visiting students and hope that you will be pleased with our representation. Students with questions or concerns should feel free to approach any of the officers.

If this date is less than two weeks from the next SBA meeting, your organization must be present at the next SBA meeting. If the date is two weeks ahead (or more) of the next SBA meeting, your organization does not need to be present.

New Instructions for Table Set ups:

SBA purchased four (4) rectangle tables that you can check out at the circulation desk.

**They are FREE  of charge.  No linen is included.**

For the university rectangular tables, round tables, Hi tops, & chairs, a set-up fee is charged depending on the size of the event. It could range from $25 to $150. As soon as I receive the quote from Facilities Department I will let you know so you can include it in your SBA Budget Request.

**Linen is only included with the rectangular tables.  Other linen must be rented from the catering company you use for your event.**

Custodial staffing is $25 per hour.  As soon as I receive the quote from the Custodial Department I will let you know so you can include it in your SBA Budget Request.
