Distinguished FIU Alumnus Robert Scavone, Jr. recently co-authored United States: How to Escape Joint-Employer Status Under The NLRA With Concrete Evidence, in Construction Business Owner and When Arbitration is Favored Despite USERRA Violations, in Law 360.

Robert Scavone, Jr. graduated from FIU Law, cum laude, in 2012. He currently practices complex business litigation and financial institution defense at Hunton & Williams. He formerly served as a law clerk to the Hon. Adalberto Jordan on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and previously clerked for the Hon. Barbara Lagoa on the Florida Third District Court of Appeal. He has taught classes as an Adjunct Professor at the FIU College of Law and at FIU’s School of International and Public Affairs. While attending FIU Law, Scavone Jr. was active in student government and served as President of the Student Bar Association. He received the G. Kirk Haas Humanitarian Scholarship, which is awarded for dedication and commitment to FIU Law, as well as the ALI-ABA Scholarship & Leadership Award. In addition to his professional commitments and service to the FIU Law Alumni Association, Scavone Jr. mentors FIU Law students in the Federal Bar Association’s mentoring program.
