On Wednesday, October 21, at 12:30 p.m., the H.T. Smith Black Law Students’ Association (BLSA), the Women’s Law Society, the Hispanic Law Student Association and the Academic Excellence Program present  Professor Russell McClain of the University of Maryland School of Law. Professor McClain will lead a discussion on the issue of stereotype threat in the law school environment – an important issue that impacts all law students’ education.  Professor McClain’s article, “How Law Schools Are Failing Minority Students:  The Insidious Consequences of Ignoring Stereotype Threat” raises serious concerns that every law school community should consider.

Food and drinks will be available in RDB 2008 starting at 12:15 p.m.  Professor McClain will begin at 12:30 p.m.
