At its Berlin congress earlier this year, the Instituto Internacional de Historia del Derecho Indiano elected Professor M.C. Mirow a member of the Institute. Applicants to the Institute are assessed on three presentations at past congresses, their scholarly publications in the field, and at least four testimonials from current members of the Institute. The Institute’s main area of investigation is Spanish colonial law throughout the world. Mirow is the third scholar from the United States to be elected a member in the history of the organization.
