Professor Jorge L. Esquirol was recently named the Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Law at the University of Trento in Italy for the 2015-2016 academic year. The Distinguished Chair program is considered the most prestigious of all Fulbright awards. There are only 40 of them each year in all disciplines combined and only three of them specifically designated in law.
From the Fulbright website, recipients of this award are “eminent scholars and have a significant publication and teaching record.” As part of his Fulbright activities in Trento in the spring, Professoer Esquirol will be teaching “Law and Politics in Latin America,” a seminar which he regularly offers at FIU Law each year. This fall, it is scheduled at FIU Law on Wednesday afternoons from 2 – 3:50 p.m.
