Professor H.T. Smith Receives Education Fund Public School Alumni Achievement Award

The Education Fund recently presented Professor H.T. Smith with the Sapoznik Insurance Public School Alumni Achievement Award at its 2018 “For the Love of Art” Charity Auction.

Held at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel, the auction supports the Fund, whose mission is to maximize every Miami-Dade Public School child’s opportunity for success by engaging the entire community in making educational excellence a top priority.

Professor Smith is a proud graduate of Mays Senior High School in Goulds, and has been a strong supporter, advocate, and ambassador for public education for 45 years.

“It is the responsibility of every Miamian,” Professor Smith said, “to ensure that children attending public schools are provided a high quality education that is uniform, efficient, and secure.”
