Professor H.T. Smith, founding director of the FIU College of Law Trial Advocacy Program, conducted a seminar on “How to Deliver a Powerful and Winning Opening Statement” at the 2019 Annual Convention of the National Bar Association,

Held in New York City, the seminar was part of a daylong Trial Advocacy Boot Camp held during the National Bar’s 94th Annual Convention.

Professor Smith’s lecture was attended by over 200 lawyers from across the United States, Canada, and England.

The National Bar Association was founded in 1925 and is the nation’s oldest and largest national network of predominantly African-American attorneys, judges, judges, law professors, and law students.
