In recognition for his work in criminal defense, Professor H. Scott Fingerhut has been re-selected for inclusion in the 2016 edition of Best Lawyers and re-rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell.

Best Lawyers is the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession, published in almost 70 countries around the world.  A listing in Best Lawyers is widely regarded as a significant honor conferred on a lawyer by his or her peers.  For more than three decades, Best Lawyers lists have earned the respect of the profession, the media, and the public as the most reliable, unbiased source of legal referrals anywhere.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings are an objective indicator of a lawyer’s high ethical standards and professional ability, generated from evaluations of lawyers by other members of the bar and judiciary.  AV Preeminent is a significant rating accomplishment – a testament to the fact that a lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence.

“These recognitions are humbling, to be sure,” Professor Fingerhut said, “and serve as reflections of life well spent in the courtroom in passionate pursuit of justice – a path which so many of our incredible students aspire to travel.”

Professor Fingerhut serves as the Assistant Director of the Trial Advocacy Program.  He teaches Trial Advocacy, Pretrial Practice and Criminal Procedure.
